T-51 Fuel Tank Leak Test

Prior to finish riveting the wing, the fuel tanks should be checked for leaks. Checking for leaks should be standard practice when building any aircraft, but at least one T-51 builder did not do this. Each tank, with fittings installed, can either be pressure checked with no more than ¼ lb. of air pressure or simply filled with fuel after installation but prior to permanently closing the center section. If a leak is detected at a fitting, reseal the fitting and perform another leak test. If a leak is detected in a tank, Titan Aircraft will replace the tank.
